HUGO, more precisely Eyan Allen, creative director, invites you to be a fashion show reporter! Who of you love social media, are a creative and talented photographer or video-maker or have your own blog and fit into the HUGO fashion world? If you think “that’s me!” and would love to document everything around the catwalk show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin, this is your chance!

Apply to be one of the five chosen reporters!
HUGO will fly you in, care for your accommodation and let you co-create the experience for a curious audience of thousands if not millions of people.
The branded competition runs on facebook, YouTube and Twitter, proving that Hugo Boss is taking the digital channels seriously. I am curious what the broadcasting concept includes, as Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton (among others) have already set new standards when it comes to hosting digital natives in real time, next to us traditional fashion show attendees. We might be asking for a more digital experience including 360-degree access that those virtual guests have.

Find more info, regulations and requirements at the HUGO Website!

    Matter of Taste

The month July was one of the best this year, also fashion wise. Compared to January, when also the fashion weeks Berlin and Paris took place, July was much warmer allowing to make the personal choice out of more fashion options, shorts and less fabric not meaning not having to sacrifice ones health for better looks.

I did not just meet Lara Maria and Penkov for yalook.com, the premium blogger conference united many (fashion) bloggers at least for a while.
The always fast Uberding crew called one of my outfits a matter of taste. I am not sure whether you like it or not, you have to decide for yourself.

I am usually not a fan of posting my own style, but when somebody else does, why not also let you know what I wear: Top Digitaria (website or Digitees shop), pants Hugo, boots Whyred, and bag Der Sammler Solo.

So, what do you think?

“Do you know those people, who cannot stop, who have to move?” I could only answer with a clear yes. The essence captured my attention instantly.

Berlin fashion week has been good to me. There are a few labels that stuck out. After ISSEVER BAHRI, I met Mila. Mila Miyahara. I gladly let her introduces herself.

For whoever does not speak french, but German: here. However, no English yet.
The idea to Mila was born in 2009. The vision of fashion which is light and elegant. Fashion that is worn during day and night, without being daily.
The website, German, is here and the shop here.

My personal highlight of this Berlin fashion week was meeting ISSEVER BAHRI. The designer duo Derya Issever and Cimen Bahri are in my eyes some of the most talented Berlin has to offer these days. The two understood that being from Berlin is not about being loud and hip, it is about utilizing the creative energy and skilled crafts(wo)manship which are around. The collection speaks for itself.

The collection consists of elegant and modern silk pieces and fine leather knitwear. Indeed, knitwear made out of leather. Serious talent and skill are united with the eyes for understated luxury.

Derya Issever participated last year already at Fashion Weeks dft - designer for tomorrow supported by Peek & Cloppenburg. This year, the duo won the prestigious Young Designers Award of Premium Exhibitions in the womenswear S/S2011 category.

Further invitations were received by the two. I am confident: Berlin is a starting point and the strong base.

Risto is Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin last but certainly not least show. A mysterious floral theme in black, white and grays printed onto silk, combined with artisanal knit. A universal summer collection, transparent, playing around the female figure. No great risks taken but no mistakes made either.

An invitation to Hugo Boss is irresistible. One of the biggest events of Berlin Fashion Week was undoubtedly the German prime fashion house. Last year named most glamorous fashion house, the Metzingen based label did not spare any effort.

Probably the biggest delay of this July’s Fashion Week was caused by the probably largest number of celebrities and personalities attending the show and dinner party hosted in Berlin Kreuzberg.

Once started, the presented Boss Black collection for Spring/Summer 2011 managed to fulfill expectations to wearability, however many pieces surprised with a both elegant and tricky twist. Where the foundation were classic and modern elegant silhouettes, the creative duo behind the collection created a variety of themes from azure and royal blue business day outfits, more pastel toned leisure safari looks and glamorous gray and black evening wear. Trends for 2011 are obviously short and long dresses, shorts and soft fabrics; Silk, linen and mercerized cottons. Extra effects are added by sequined applications for women and accompanied by sharp silhouettes and clean looks for men.
The variety within this collection is as wide as the horizon of the cosmopolitan individual meant to be wearing it. Although the German actors and musicians elite attended (besides some athletes), one would wonder why Boss has not taken over Hollywood gala wardrobes.

The guests were invited to a delicious dinner party following the catwalk show. Blending flavors just like during the show, various courses of antipasti, pasta and later pizza and deserts pleased ones appetite and made up for the extraordinary waiting time before the show.
